Home Economic students in grades 7-9 will learn about hand-sewing basics and using sewing machines to create various projects. They will learn to thread a needle, tie a knot, attach a button, and use the blanket stitch. Grade 8 and 9 students will also learn how to thread and operate a sewing machine. Students in all grades will complete food safety courses before participating in several cooking labs and competitions. Grade 8 and 9 students will also be able to explore several trades, including electrical, plumbing, cosmetology, computer coding, and horticulture.
